The UW-Milwaukee Zilber School of Public Health conducts rigorous public health research and scholarship, educates the current and future public health workforce, and influences the development of strategies and policies that promote health among diverse populations.

Degree programs currently only enroll new students in the Fall semester

The Master of Public Health is designed to prepare students with the foundation necessary to build a career of leadership in public health. This program is accepting admissions for Fall. 

The PhD in Public Health - Community and Behavioral Health Promotion will train students in a social ecological approach to health promotion and behavior change from a public health perspective.

The PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health broadly focuses on the environmental determinants of disease in the general population and occupational settings. It allows students the opportunity to investigate the interaction of such environmental factors with individual facets of disease susceptibility such as genetics, age, and development.

Application deadlines for degree programs are as follows: Early decision November 1st, and Final decision March 1st.

The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is designed for students and working professionals involved in health programming, evaluation, education policy, engineering, administration, research and other areas related to public health. Fall deadline, August 1st; Spring deadline, December 15th; Summer deadline, April 15th

Future Programs

The PhD in Epidemiology will study distribution and determinants of disease and disability in populations.

The PhD in Public Health Policy will prepare researchers and teachers to address policy and administration issues that impact public health.
